1. Connect to the server

Easiest way: click the Connect button on the homepage or the Server Stats page — launches Steam and connects automatically.

Or manually via the in-game console (default key ~):

connect 195.90.222.132:27015

2. Set up CS 1.6

Counter-Strike 1.6 runs through Steam. If not installed yet: search for "Counter-Strike 1.6" in your Steam library and install it.

Recommended Steam launch options (right-click the game → Properties → General → Launch Options):

-console -freq <Hz> -noforcemparms -noforcemaccel -noforcemspd

3. Recommended FPS setting

CS 1.6 ties part of its game logic to your framerate — a stable, consistent FPS is more important than a high peak value.

fps_max 101

4. Network settings

For a stable connection to our server, set these in the console:

rate 25000
cl_updaterate 101
cl_cmdrate 101
ex_interp 0.01

5. Buy binds

A buy bind purchases your whole loadout with one key press instead of clicking through the buy menu — faster and less stress during buy time.

This is how a bind is built. The commands inside the quotation marks run one after another, separated by a semicolon:

bind "TASTE" "buy waffe1; buy waffe2; buy ausruestung"
  • Order = priority. Money is spent in order, so put the most important item first (main weapon, then armor, then grenades).
  • One bind for both teams. Whatever your team cannot buy is simply skipped. buy ak47; buy m4a1 gives you the AK-47 as T and the M4A1 as CT, and only CTs get the defuser.
  • Only in the buy zone and during buy time. Nothing happens outside, and anything you cannot afford is not bought.
  • Built-in fallback. buy vesthelm; buy vest: if you cannot afford armor with helmet, you at least get the armor.

Examples to copy

F1 Rifle round

AK-47 (T) or M4A1 (CT), armor with helmet, defuser (CT only), two flashbangs and one HE grenade.

bind "F1" "buy ak47; buy m4a1; buy vesthelm; buy vest; buy defuser; buy flash; buy flash; buy hegren"
F2 AWP round

AWP, armor with helmet, then a Deagle as sidearm, a defuser (CT only) and a flashbang if there is money left.

bind "F2" "buy awp; buy vesthelm; buy vest; buy deagle; buy defuser; buy flash"
F3 Force buy

A cheaper option when money is tight: Galil (T) or FAMAS (CT) with armor and one flashbang.

bind "F3" "buy galil; buy famas; buy vest; buy flash"
F4 Grenades only

One HE, two flashbangs and one smoke — handy when you already own your weapon.

bind "F4" "buy hegren; buy flash; buy flash; buy sgren"
F5 Buy ammo

Refills ammo for your primary and secondary weapon.

bind "F5" "buy primammo; buy secammo"

The most important buy names

Primary: ak47 m4a1 awp galil famas mp5 p90 aug sg552 scout m3 xm1014. Secondary: deagle usp glock p228 elites fiveseven. Equipment: vest vesthelm flash hegren sgren defuser nvgs. Ammo: primammo secammo. Plus the built-in commands rebuy (buys what you had last round) and autobuy.

Which keys?

The F keys are only a suggestion. Pick keys you do not need during a fight and can reach easily: F1–F8, the numpad (KP_END, KP_DOWNARROW, KP_PGDN …) or extra mouse buttons (MOUSE4, MOUSE5). Do not use a key you have already bound (e.g. movement, reload or the buy menu B). Remove a bind with unbind "F1".

Where to put them?

Either type them into the console one line at a time (default key ~) — the game remembers binds when you quit — or save them permanently in the file userconfig.cfg inside the cstrike folder (loaded automatically on every game start). All examples at once:

userconfig.cfg
bind "F1" "buy ak47; buy m4a1; buy vesthelm; buy vest; buy defuser; buy flash; buy flash; buy hegren"
bind "F2" "buy awp; buy vesthelm; buy vest; buy deagle; buy defuser; buy flash"
bind "F3" "buy galil; buy famas; buy vest; buy flash"
bind "F4" "buy hegren; buy flash; buy flash; buy sgren"
bind "F5" "buy primammo; buy secammo"
bind "F6" "rebuy"

Build your own variant: swap weapons, change the order, add or drop grenades, and give eco, force and full-buy rounds a key each.
