Play Counter-Strike 1.6: Getting Started

From installation to your first match: this is how you get on the server.

Four steps to the game

  1. Install: install Counter-Strike 1.6 via Steam, details on the downloads page.
  2. Connect: open the console and type connect 195.90.222.132:27015, or search the server list for “PLAYCS.DE”.
  3. Maps: if a map is missing, FastDL downloads it automatically.
  4. Settings: recommended values for rate and update rate are in the guide.

What to keep in mind

Read the short server rules before your first game. Cheats are forbidden and the server is VAC secured. What “Classic” means for us is explained on the Classic Public Server page.

Not to play. You only need a Steam sign-in for the community features.
